Before becoming a lawyer, Joshua spent four years in the Singapore Police Force. In that time, he gained exposure to situations that honed the skills he still relies on today: a strong understanding of of human behaviour, clear judgement, and decisiveness under pressure.

His police training also means he is disciplined, persistent, and always thoroughly prepared - with an analytical mind that makes him a formidable adversary in both the boardroom and the courtroom.

A grounded, methodical problem-solver

Joshua received several commendations as a police officer, including awards for proactive arrests, the Commander’s Award for “excellent ground knowledge and skillful interviewing techniques”, and the Service Excellence Award (Silver). The abilities that earned him those accolades continue to inform his work today - showing up in his careful and structured approach to gathering and assessing facts when building a case.

Applying street smarts to legal practice

When handling complex construction and commercial disputes, Joshua draws on the instincts and resilience he developed on the front lines, approaching high-stakes matters with composure and clear, deliberate thinking.

He also advises clients across both arbitration and litigation, working on a broad range of matters - from Security of Payment Act adjudications to urgent applications such as interim injunctions.

Committed to service

Joshua continues to serve the community today through the Law Society’s Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS), where he provides criminal defence for society’s most marginalised individuals.

Across both his police and legal careers, he has remained consistent in his sense of duty and pursuit of justice - taking on every challenge with skill, diligence and heart.
