Abel focuses on complex cross-border disputes, with experience in both litigation and arbitration. Clients appreciate his clear analyses, attention to detail, and ability to find practical solutions in matters that involve significant commercial stakes.

Wide-ranging experience
Abel has represented local and international clients before all levels of the Singapore Courts and in arbitrations. His work covers contractual and shareholder disputes, breaches of directors’ duties, insolvency, banking and finance claims; as well as intellectual property, regulatory compliance, minority oppression, illegal moneylending and tenancy.
Alongside his litigation work, Abel helps clients with early risk assessment - identifying potential legal issues and preventing their escalation.
His fluency in English, Bahasa Melayu and Bahasa Indonesia also lets him advise clients across the region and manage cross-cultural matters with ease.

A passion for advocacy
Abel’s talent for persuasion was cultivated since his school and university days, when he competed actively in moots and debating. Notably, he was a top-ranked debater in Asia; and part of the 2021 NUS (National University of Singapore) team which clinched every award for Best-Written Memorials at the International Air Law Moot.
These experiences have strengthened the research, reasoning and communication skills he now brings to his legal practice.

Abel is an avid tennis player - having competed in the sport since the age of ten. His discipline and focus on the court often show up in his approach to practice.
He is also an aviation enthusiast and intends to pursue a pilot’s license in the future.
